PPSU offers better impact and chemical resistance than PEI. It can operate in temperatures up to 180°C and has superior hydrolysis resistance. PPSU resists common acids and bases over a broad temperature range. Applications for PPSU are aerospace, automotive, dental, medical and surgical implements. The PPSU technology is based on Solvay technology. PPSU meets the ISO10993 for medical applications and meets the European regulations EC No. 1935/2004, EC No. 2023/2006 and EC No. 10/2011 concerning plastic materials and articles coming into contact with food and is also compliant with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for food contact.
